Well, it’s clear things didn’t work out as you may have originally imagined.

The pandemic is subsiding. That’s good. Hiring is picking up. That’s good. But the ability to fill open positions? That’s not so good.

Actually, the situation is feeling dire in some industries. The greatest challenge facing talent acquisition is…well…talent acquisition itself. That is, actually acquiring talent.

Cloud Engineer

Huntsville, Alabama
About the job

The successful candidate must have hands-on experience in cloud-native software development, service, or support and be a highly adaptable team player who can quickly ramp up on new technologies and accomplish goals in a fast-paced agile environment. A combination of strong technical and communication skills is a must. Technical leadership of junior engineers is also expected.

This is a permanent position and requires you to be onsite in Huntsville AL. Relocation assistance is provided along with a 15% annual cash bonuses. Excellent pay structure.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and maintain cloud infrastructure, spanning on-premise solutions and public cloud instances like Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Configure and customize features to the infrastructure using Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, and other cloud-based tools.
  • You will be responsible to manage and maintain integrations between tools like Gitlab, Jenkins, JIRA, and many more.
  • Modify user interfaces and reporting options for these tools as required to support customer needs.
  • Have a broad understanding of various cloud-native tools and how they might be integrated into the above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • AWS and/or Azure experience.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes, Docker, EKS/AKS experience.
  • Hands-on usage of Git and Jenkins.
  • Experience with Linux software development.
  • Excellent programming skills using Python, Go, and C/C++.
  • 2+ years of experience in cloud-native DevOps.
  • 5+ years working in software development, customer support, or professional services.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering workflows and developer tools.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and real-time operating systems/environments would be a plus.
  • BSc / MSc degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree).
  • US Person on US soil.

Desired Qualifications

  • Broad cloud-native tool experience (examples might include Cloudify, Terraform, Podman, Helm, Ceph, S3/EBS, Hadoop, Tekton, Min.io, Kafka, Nifi, etc.)
  • Web design experience using DevOps principles with tools such as Node, Django, Ajax, CSS, Angular, Play, JavaScript, PERL, jQuery, HTML/XML, PHP.
  • Multi-region AWS and/or Azure experience

Embedded Engineer

About the job

The ideal candidate will have proven skills in development of embedded software for embedded hardware systems. The job requires solid people skills for interaction with customers and project teams.  The qualified candidate will be self-driven with relevant embedded software experience that can be applied to a variety of new processor and peripheral devices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct assistance to customer teams with Design, implementation, and validation of embedded software, e.g. Board Support Packages (BSP) for custom and/or COTS embedded hardware systems
  • Provide direct assistance to customer teams with Design, implementation, and test of software drivers for a variety of peripheral devices commonly used in embedded hardware systems.
  • Provide direct assistance to customer teams with the development of hardware test code, support bring-up, and validation of custom embedded hardware systems.
  • Provide customer site support
  • Work independently on customer site managing day to day interactions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent in a related subject area
  • Minimum of 5 years of embedded software design experience, a significant portion of which is with RTOS.
  • US Citizen
  • Experience with low level embedded SW (e.g. BSPs and device drivers) development, debugging/troubleshooting
  • Experience using embedded software development environments (e.g. Workbench, Eclipse)
  • Experience in custom embedded hardware bring up
  • Strong C programming experience
  • Software development experience on one or more common embedded processor types (PowerPC, MIPS, x86, ARM, etc.)
  • Prior customer success management experience a plus
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, prefer to already hold DoD security clearance.  Current security clearance (Secret level) a plus.
